Day 3 in Napa in the books! Running a day behind on notes...Napa time runs slow AND fast!

Solid. Merlot and CF blend. It’s very floral with loads of potpourri, tobacco, tar and red fruit. High acidity and light on the palate. Fun.

Anima Negra

ÀN/2 Callet Blend

Wow this is neat wine from Mallorca.

Smells as if it has been filtered through cavernous cliffs. The fruit is all flinty, bright, and interesting. Lots of pit and rind, a great wine that showcases how well wines can grow and absorb the ocean air. The Saline shows itself in the wine, if only slightly.
Enjoyed at one of José Andrés fine establishments.

Yarra Yering

Dry Red Wine No°2 Shiraz

Epic Australian Shiraz. Good colour not too deep, with great rich bouquet of intense black fruits, pepper, smoky and floral notes. Taste smacks you in the face bursting with rich fruit flavours and subtle tannins, lingering on the pallet. Gorgeous red wine. — a day ago

Yarra Yering

Dry Red Wine No°2 Shiraz Blend 2016

In the Langtons Excellent category. A Shiraz blend from the Yarra Valley created originally by the enigmatic Dr Bailey Carrodus who has passed. Probably the first person in Australia to co-ferment Shiraz and Viognier. Always a delicious long living wine. — 5 months ago
