Sipping Fine Wine

Founded in 1986 by Josep-Maria Raventos, member of the Codorníu family, creating a small, quality-oriented winery standing apart from the large co-ops. A blend of 40% Xarel-lo, 36% Macabeu, 18% Parellada, 6% Monastrell. Red berry and floral aromas with fine bubbles. On the palate strawberry and cherry with mineral yeasty notes on the lingering finish, good balance. Hand harvested and secondary fermentation rests for 15 months before disgorgement. A nice bargain. Tasting Sample.

Peachy yellow. A bit oaky and dirty on the nose to start but then opens up with some minerality and light fruits. Fresh acidity (5.5/10) and light plus body. Notes of strawberries, cherries, and gravel. Medium plus finish. Drink till 2021.

Don't judge this by the first aromas. Very interesting nose the first day. Like wild grape varieties (40% Xarel-lo, 36% Macabeu, 18% Parellada, 6% Monastrell). Intriguing and enjoyable, well made. SS

Strawberry cotton candy, roasted almonds and minerals. Possibly better than last vintage. Absolutely delicious and better than a ton of champagnes at literally half the price.

This energetic pink bubbly from one of Spain’s iconic producers displays intense red berry, blood orange and floral character with a mineral flourish. Chewy and tightly focused, the 2016 shows a refreshingly bitter edge on a dry, persistent finish that emphatically repeats the floral theme. $25.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, October 2018)

Gorgeous! Just 5% Monastrell adds a light pinkish hue. Super fine bubbles, ethereal, and one of the best under $30 sparklers in the world.

Muy elegante y complejo, perfil cercano a blanco inicialmente pero luego emergen los frutos rojos

Not a start as a regular "cava"... Hints of fruit mixed with jasmine. There are a lot of nice dimensions to this... Can't describe properly.
