Yellow cherries, waxy fruits, grapefruit, chalk. Pleasing salinity. Big acids; really savory, broad and long. #weegmuller #pfalz #riesling — 6 years ago
Vintage 2007 - curiosity from #pfalz made of #spätburgunder, blanc de noir ánd #eiswein picked after frost. It always amazes me that eiswein has a very high acidity. This wine has it too, with beautiful balance, roundness and a sweetness that is not boring. — 6 years ago
We are not worthy. Ripe, unctuous...yet focused, with searing acidity. Orange peel, fresh cream. Crazy stuff. #kohler #pinotblanc #pfalz — 6 years ago
@Byron C Mayes says it all in his review. This sweetish, rich #pfalz #dornfelder makes a compelling alternative to bottled Sangria poolside on a Houston August Saturday. If you chill it below the suggested 60°F, with the outside heat it warms quickly and offers wet slate aroma undertones to that cool dark fruit. This might make an interesting pairing with slightly spicy goat curry or Tandoori lamb chops. 🤔 — 4 years ago
Upon opening, a big hit of undissolved SO2 on the scratchy back palate. After a day’s aeration, a lovely, medium-weight Pinot. Cola, roasted plums, pie spices...not unlike an old Tulocay Pinot Noir! Fun stuff. #pfalz #spätburgunder — 6 years ago

My first #pfalz #pinotnoir - Such a classic Old World German Pinot Noir style. Just shy of medium bodied, garnet in glass with bricking towards the edges. An interesting pronounced smoky tar and slate nose - not unpleasant at all, faint strawberry, cherry aromas much farther behind that. Lighter bodied on the palate than it looks - savory red fruit, some peppery spice, grippy textured tannins on a longer finish. It paired pretty well with my favorite Austin Philly-style cheesesteak sandwich. — 2 years ago
