Bodegas Paco García

Edicion Limitada Rioja Garnacha 2017

I was truly disappointed but this bottle and vintage. It has #brettanomyces and renders the wine faulty and basically undrinkable. Even with the Brett I’m not sure that I’d completely enjoy it anyway as it seems tart, medium bodied and the tannins seem dry. Too bad. The winemaker is a friend of mine and this is one of the first wines of his that has disappointed me. — 2 years ago

Big Big Big #BRETTANOMYCES distracting from any #cultivar character. did remind me of my childhood chores on the ranch, shoveling #shit from the horse stalls, so it gets points for its #懐かしい factor. — 9 years ago

Lol not the most successful lineup?!

There were some winners. Vertebre from Terroirs sans Frontieres is a favorite. Argot wines from Sonoma and Napa were delicious. But, I just felt like these 3 wines were all 90+ scored and I felt like, or I’m crazy or the tasters didn’t taste the final bottled wine???

Peter Martin Ray Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

Charles (Chad) Bucklin

A restrained #california #pinotnoir that had med + intensity and was quite spicy on the nose. There was also reductive notes and possibly a little #brettanomyces characteristic. There was less fruit on the palate with nice acid and tension. The tannins were firm and the length was medium. #arnotroberts #oldworldstyle #santacruzmountains #ctbucklinwine — 8 years ago

Twenty Two Fermented Dry-Hopped Wild Ale

PSA: #brettanomyces in #craftbeer does NOT automatically mean #sourbeer ! This 100% #brett #BelgianBeer inspired Avery Ann'y #Ale is a 0% #horseblanket, 100% enjoyable, dry, stonefruit-driven delight. Funk is often a product of competing yeasts (ie sacch vs brett). If you had to physically fight for finite resources, wouldn't you get sweaty & smelly too? — 8 years ago
