Munjebel Terre Siciliane Bianco Carricante Blend 2020

Grapefruit, bruised apples, lemonpeel, flowers, cloudy, malty, flinty, yeasty and saline.
Not too acidic, not as ‘orange’ or oxidative as I thought it would be. Lots of minerals on the finish. Nice.

Cantina del Signore

Riserva Borgofranco Gattinara Nebbiolo 2016

N: Cherries, old shoe leather, tree bark, red verging on black. Has the quality of a freshly pitted bowl of cherries, pits still clinging to the flesh. It’s very “ lifted” as they say… Volnay like.
P: Seamless, delicate, acid but not overtly, not rich…gossamer. Delightful mouthfeel, silky.Red fruited, cherries & plums, some tobacco, integrated tannins. Mountain Nebbiolo indeed.

La Petite Côte Condrieu Viognier 2019

The Dr. Pepper to shake up my Cola habit. Condrieu is something different - thick, waxy texture, concentrated like mercury. Yellow canned peaches in syrup, apricot jam, starfruit, honey, and the most awesome orange liquor.

Condrieu or Cointreau?

Bergström Wines

Cumberland Reserve Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2018

Delicious. Complex nose has plenty of ooozing, sappy dark cherry fruit, a decent amount of toasty, clove-like French oak, spice, warm moist loam. The palate is more minerally, with lots of crushed rock and salinity. Bone dry, but with mouth-clinging dark cherry extract. As slight bitter note at the tail end of the finish, which is long. The acids are there but soft, and there’s some very soft tannin, so this will certainly age at least a few years.

UPDATE: On night 2, the oak is much better integrated and the wine is more settled and complex. Upping from 9.2 to 9.3.
