Walter Scott

X Novo Vineyard Chardonnay 2019

Rob N
9.3

I greatly enjoyed this chardonnay that was exceptionally balanced — just oaky enough, not too oaky, for instance. But I actually preferred the Walter Scott I had drunk before, by a slight margin. It had a toastier, tobacco flavor profile whereas this one was more traditional. — 3 years ago

Ca' del Laito Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Corvina Blend 2016

Really love this one. Second bottle. A little earthy on the nose and pretty silky in the mouth with some berries and soft tannins that linger. — 3 years ago

Raul Pérez

Ultreia Saint Jacques Mencía 2018

Raul Perez Mencias are always full of perfumes and textures. Ultreia is fresh rose petals, lavender, red currants, and cinnamon. Spice and bite. Equally elegant and assertive. — 3 years ago

Bodegas Alto Moncayo

Veraton Garnacha 2017

Delicious Spanish red. Fruit forward w some tannins at PnP but w a little time opened into the delicious garnacha that it is. Depth and spice w ample acidity. Really good now, probably a killer in 2-5 more years. — 3 years ago

Caymus Vineyards

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Beautiful dark burgundy color with aromas of earthy forest fruits, licorice, and leather. After it opens, it has beautiful vanilla flavors. Rich, full bodied, and chewy. Would be a wine to enjoy with a nicely marbled steak! — 3 years ago

Château Lalande-Borie

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

I regret not aging this longer! But my friends and I loved it. Blackberries, dried herbs, plums. Great structure. Just a delicious wine. I think it’s a good value for $45ish. — 3 years ago
