Philippe Pacalet

Cornas Syrah 2015

Woah Pacalet kills it again. Olive tapenade with the slightest touch of smoke on the nose leads to the intense taste of smoked meats, leather, blackberries. The finish lasts for a solid 2 minutes. On the nose this smells like a big Rhône style wine from Paso but then the whole cluster finesse I love from Pacalet’s burgundies really shines — 4 years ago

Château Latour

Les Forts de Latour Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Deep ruby almost purple hue with secondary influences of garnet. Blackberry, creme de cassis, molasses, anise, vanilla, baking spices, earth, mushrooms, leather, and tobacco notes; soft tannins, smooth on the palate; everything is in balance to deliver a deliciously elegant complement to the meal. ABV 13%. Vintage 2005. #lesfortsdelatour #lesfortsdelatour2005 #pauillac #pauillacdelatour #medoc #medocwines #frenchieattitude #winedown2019 — 4 years ago

Silex Pouilly-Fumé Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Always a lovely wine. The warmth of the 2015 vintage lends an early approachability. — 4 years ago

Château Rouget

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

Excellent modern style Pomerol with full of ripe red fruit and dark dried cherries with lots of tannin and slight hints of gravel. Beautiful Bordeaux but young yet goes marvellously well with a traditional beef Wellington. Cheers and happy New Years to all — 4 years ago

Lagunitas Brewing Company

IPA

The quality of Lagunitas IPA can vary enormously, but somehow this place occasionally gets the very best of it. This one is definitely well above average, but not quite as good as the ultimate version we had here a few years ago. — 4 years ago

Year-end dinner with great friends at one of our favorite wine bars.

Tough finding a better way to wrap up an amazing dinner. Thank you for the belated birthday celebration.

Amazing mix of honey, fruit and floral flavors as well as the rich texture on the palate. Keeps you engaged fully and wanting more.
