I was hoping to experience the same style of Syrah from this label that I enjoyed a decade ago, full of flowers and blueberry notes. Instead, this bottle was a peppery and brambly version. Still tasty but not as terrific as I remembered. It did open up nicely after half an hour of decanting, and a sniff of the decanter provided a faint bacon aroma as sometimes happens with Rhone reds. This wine (2018 vintage) was a good match with my braised beef cheeks at the Black Sheep restaurant in Santa Barbara. — 10 months ago
Truly a surprise. Very bright fruit nose and richly raspberry on the pallet with soft tannins. A real gift after a two hour decant, nose and pallet became enriched with delicious earthy notes. A very well made and balanced wine. Needs a long decant to really appreciate. — a month ago
#staritahills #pinotnoir this is nice because has a lovely maturing process and has complexity. — a year ago
One of the few sweet wines from #Chardonnay that I’ve ever had. I really enjoyed it. I’m a sucker for yummy sweet wines. Leave it to #sbccounty to make this style — a year ago

2020 vintage. So so elegant and beautiful. One of the lightest California Pinots I’ve had in three decades in pursuit of the holy grail. That strawberry/raspberry finish just keeps going. — a month ago
