I was hoping to experience the same style of Syrah from this label that I enjoyed a decade ago, full of flowers and blueberry notes. Instead, this bottle was a peppery and brambly version. Still tasty but not as terrific as I remembered. It did open up nicely after half an hour of decanting, and a sniff of the decanter provided a faint bacon aroma as sometimes happens with Rhone reds. This wine (2018 vintage) was a good match with my braised beef cheeks at the Black Sheep restaurant in Santa Barbara. — 3 years ago
Was in Santa Barbara when I came across their wine shop. This is a whopping 14.8% ABV. Very well balanced and smooth. $28 — 3 years ago
Lovely Chardonnay crisp with a lovely finish. — 4 months ago
One of the few sweet wines from #Chardonnay that I’ve ever had. I really enjoyed it. I’m a sucker for yummy sweet wines. Leave it to #sbccounty to make this style — 3 years ago
I love Tyler Pinots but this is very disappointing…thin, acidic, boring….in a blind I would have thought a mediocre Sancerre — 7 months ago
#staritahills #pinotnoir this is nice because has a lovely maturing process and has complexity. — 3 years ago
Nice Pinot, berry notes with gentle tanins which add some nice complexity — 3 years ago

I’m between 92-93 here, but this definitely has upside. Followed over three days.
Very translucent ruby in the glass. Extremely floral on the nose alongside plenty of juicy red fruit (strawberries, raspberries) and savory herbal spices. If whole clusters were used, it was minimal, but this isn’t a brash new world Pinot with overpowering oak. It trends toward a faint kirsch and black tea finish. I always enjoy Lato’s SRH Pinots and this is a good one now and will be for a solid 5-7yrs. — 4 months ago
