Nose is cranberry, spice and mulberry. So different than what Thorle is doing today. Love this style but also love the newer style. What a winery! Some herbs, some limestone aromas and sour cherry. Very complex. Palate is energetic and to be honest a bit of an herbal streak that I love but others might not. No green from 18 on for this bottling. I am betting it goes away with air. Palate is lush and energetic with terrific purity and depth. Good freshness and depth hut seems thing compared to what they are doing now. Sour and early season cherry fruit and super velvety tannins. Let’s see what happens with air. — 3 months ago
Powerful nose, anise, cantaloupe, citrus, grapefruit, red and pink. mango, papaya, just ripe, salty nose, lovely airiness and almost chablis like minerality. Juicy and clean, so sappy and dense but light and mineral. Gorgeous, papaya and mango on the palate. So pure and deep. Nose showing spice. Lovely purity. Length is brilliant. — 5 months ago

So so intense, clean mineral lines & voluminous on palate-tasted blind my friend thought Chardonnay. 50 shades of apricot, a squeeze of petrol at end of long finish. Enough padding to be also Uber enjoyable. — 3 months ago
Beats the 2015 Thörle Hölle with ease. Soft mellowed out. Cardamom, orange zest, hint oregano, plenty tannins. Faint cherry. Needs air - give it 1h at least! In Germany 2015 was considered one of the best vintages ever. Can run another 5-6 years. For some reason i love the the E&M off vintages more - go figure? With air this further improved lime and more pronounced cherry. — 3 months ago

Lovely, perfectly balanced. Just the right amount of wood for just the right amount of brioche and lemon curd. I’ve been saying it for a while - German Chardonnay is where it’s at. — 21 days ago
