Richer & broader vs the Reiterpfad, more Meursault rather than Puligny. More Burgundian than Riesling’ian.
Needs a few mins to open up & to show off the ripe peachy, baked lemon, with some nice exotic notes, a bit of freshly baked lemon meringue pie. Elegant, complex, quite complete.
On the palate this is a bit broader, more self-assured, slightly rounder. The (elegant) wood aging a touch more prominent but beautifully balanced with the zingy Riesling acidity. The fruit is more in the back, alongside with the minerality. This is truly a nice one. The best of von Winning’s Erste Lagen? — 6 months ago

A beautiful example of a Pfalz Riesling - elegant, rounded, very Burgundian.
White peach and lemon peel, a whiff of white flowers and just a slight hint of wood.
On the palate this is impeccably balanced, with zingy acidity balanced with ripe peachy fruit. All that on a bed of rocky minerality with a very long, fine, salty fresh finish. This has nice depth and brilliant drinkability. Great stuff, even from the trickier 22 vintage.

Mineral forward Riesling on the drier side. Delicious. — 7 months ago
Sensational wine. Floral nose, explosive flavors, great texture, incredible length - mango, pineapple, coconut. Nothing to fear from this producer’s use of oak in this bottling. Perfect. Hard to find and, once open, disappears fast. Something like 120 cases produced. — 3 months ago
Nose: green pepper herbs.
Palate: lovely cab. Elegant red cherry. Nice vegetal.

Big! Leesy. Golden in the glass. Hay, mango, lemon curd, pineapple, coconut. Cork showed leakage but the wine was in great shape. Lots of power here. Blind tasters immediately went to Chardonnay, and it’s hard not to given the buttery quality. Really cool wine, but not at $100 on the shelf. — 20 days ago
