Amazing taste! Fruit forward, with great notes of dark fruit and jam. It mellows out to a warm vanilla and spice finish. Very palatable and a “crowd pleaser.” Only gets better and fuller in flavor without becoming overly strong while it opens up. — 2 days ago
Handed a glass of this as we walked up to the welcome center. Perfect refreshment on a hot Hill Country weekend! The staff at William Chris are so nice and hospitable. But what do you expect in Texas! The wine is dry with notes of strawberry and a hint of raspberry. Loved it and brought several home to enjoy till we can make another trip back. — 15 days ago
The nose shows; waxiness, beeswax, green apple, lemon, lime candy, fresh pineapple juice, honey, white stone fruit, chamomile, vanilla notes, crush, sea fossils, limestone, touch of flintiness, chalk, jasmine, yellow lilies with mixed greens.
The body is round, thick & a touch gluey/waxy. The palate has; crisp green apple, lime & lemon zest, dried pineapple, stone fruits, kiwi, chamomile, vanilla notes, white spice, mid volcanic minerals, crush, sea fossils, limestone, touch of flintiness, chalk, jasmine, yellow lilies with mixed greens. The acidity beautifully round, thick, lush, ripe, well balanced and persists minutes. From 375ml.

Amazing. Dark and inky on the nose. Palate of stone fruit, but not as baked as Napa cabs can sometimes get, which is good in this case. Manages to balance being fresh and bright with dark fruit. 100% would buy again. — 21 days ago
Rich and smooth. The nose is very fresh and offers strong aromas of sweet cherry (liquer cherry) and some subtle vanilla. On the palate is delicate, but only at the beginning. Dark chocolate begins to dominate quickly with some spicy note (but also: very delicate). — 18 days ago

Forgot to take a photo of the Half Bottle at No. 19 Restaurant at The Darling at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. This was the 2017 William Downie from Gippsland. Interested to try this as Gippsland is the home of Bass Phillip, one of the most accomplished makers of Pinot Noir in Australia as is William Downie. This was more beetroot and earthy root vegetables than red fruits with classic Burgundian sappiness. A classy effort although has some developing to do. — a day ago
With air classic Chablis. No signs of premox. 02 Les Peruses has been most affected in my experience. — 3 days ago
One of my favorite single vineyard Napa Cabs! Red fruit driven with such purity in the fruit; cherry liqueur; rich and velvety sweet tannins; light cocoa mid palate and finish; delicious! — 24 days ago
