This is a delicious Rosé from Napa Valley. Smooth and elegant with such a pretty color. Interesting and engaging.

Deep pink. A little sweet spice, like honey baked ham, small white flowers on the nose. A light and fresh palette, initially you get fruit like fresh blueberries maybe a little tartness/cranberry with a nice sense of minerality, dissipates quickly into slight funk and menthol/cough syrup/outer layer of tootsie pop. Lovely, complex, strawberry-rhubarb richer-style rosé from 55+ year old Montepulciano vines in Abruzzo. High acid, tannins (even from just 20 minute maceration), and big fruit make this a great food pairing wine. For us, it was Sicilian-style seafood risotto; a lighter white may have wilted. Raspberry, pomegranate, peach, grapefruit, light brioche, and hint of white flower. Great fruit intensity. Robust and clean. The mousse were a bit too aggressive.

My first experience with one of Musar’s Rosés and I’ve got to say that it reminds me a lot of their Blanc but with a kiss of red fruit…which, in a sense, is exactly how this wine is made. Popped and poured; consumed over two hours. Served just a touch below cellar temp but it warmed in the glass. The wine presents as a sort of pale copper color. On the nose, a rather fascinating array of fruit including strawberry, watermelon, bing cherry, grapefruit, and generic tropical fruit. On the palate, I’m reminded more of Rainier cherries with kiwi, lemon, lanolin and almond skin. A rather fabulous body with wonderful texture…not too unlike LdH’s Tondonia Rosado, actually. Medium- tannin and medium+ acid. The finish is long and satisfying. No doubt, this is a very nerdy rosé and one that I look forward to experiencing more often! FWIW, Delectable misidentifies this as a blend of Chardonnay, Semillon and Cinsault when in fact this is Obaideh, Merwah and Cinsault. — 4 days ago
73/13/7/5/2 blend of Garnacha, Syrah, Monastrell, Graciano and Piquepoul Blanc. Pink to red rose petal in color (it’s not just the artwork) light cherry aroma, Good tangerine-cherry-white pepper flavor consistent with two main red varietals here. Not quite bone dry but close. Nice acidity and mineral finish. Muted flavors overall but a fine wine for sipping on a hot day. Paired so well with a Bianco Verde pizza al fresco last week at Pizzeria Bianco that I went out and bought a bottle. — 12 days ago
