It’s been a few years since my last bottle of this and some extra cellartime has turned out to be beneficial for this one.
Lemonoil, gooseberry, elderflower, succulent pears, chalky stones for minerality. Today, there is a lovely balance in its well-rounded richness and youthful freshness, its sweet and ripe fruit notes and its persistent mineral finish. — 3 months ago
After enjoying the Tement SB earlier, we decided to try another and we were so glad we did. This SB retained the tropical and citrus aromas and flavors, but the barrel aging rounded out the mouthfeel and finish. My daughter has never been so enthusiastic about a wine before! Ordered some from Rosenthal before leaving the restaurant! — 7 months ago
Ripe like, rain and stone. Truly a great find. Will buy again. — 3 months ago
Similar to the Sauvingons, the Chardonnays from southern Styria have their unique style - neither French nor New World. These are very much mountain wines - more linear, cool, clear and with brilliant minerality. Thankfully, they still fly under the radar.
Quite restrained nose, very fresh, cool, mineral, with some fresh meadowherbs (lemon balm, dandelion), shy lemon peel, a hint of yellow stone fruit in the background.
On the palate this is focused, precise, tightly wound around a core of stony, salty minerality. Love the purity of the fruit and the juicy acidity. Very nice depth and great length. Highly drinkable, with nice complexity & elegance.
