Almond, strawberry, cherry, black pepper... Wow what a nose! The palate is very well balanced and powerful: super strong acid backbone, bright red fruit all along, some nice width with a grippy soft texture, some tannins kicking things up before a very long and wide fruity finish, where fruit liquor and almond waltz together for a while. A bitter touch finishes up in style. What a ride! — 5 years ago

The proverbial “5 Wood” to play when you need steady and precise. Wonderful 2 varietal waltz of fluid precision and Elegance. Not hyper-charged in tannin or acid, this super plush and refined winner was a perfect match for lamb sausage. Well grown Virginia Hamlet!! — 5 years ago
This is a beautiful 80/20 blend that I brought back from visit Montpelier. This was chosen for me at a shop to reflect the region I was visiting. While a bit simple and direct, the structure conveys the elegance and mouthfeel with clarity. A delightful blackberry & thyme waltz. — 2 years ago
From a little vineyard just above one of the most highly reputed vineyards (La Tâche) in of the most highly esteemed villages (Vosne Romanée) in the most sought after region of the world (Burgundy) lies this little vineyard called Aux Champs Pedrix. 10 years ago some grapes was grown and harvested in this vineyard and fermented into wine..
... And as the wine dust of its shoulders and get comfy in the glass it is an drop dead gorgeous act indeed. Still with plenty of nerve intact in a borderline between dried and fresh fruit, a vivid perfumed mid section of incense, bitter orange and dried roses that lies over a savoury foundation of soy sauce, dried mushrooms and forrest floor.
A fresh spine and silky grip from the tannins keeps the palate intact as it travels like a graceful waltz through the palate over the long finish.

Oh heavy and deep and it’s someone who gets into my head and body and soul. As Mourvèdre/monastrell/mataro does. It is in my body because it is balanced: alcohol acid and body seem to waltz whilst NOT waiting for the unbalanced part: the onslaught of flavor. Those parts are moshing(body): leather and funky high toned but aggro tobacco orange peel all sorts of sour red and black things and an umeboshi plum are the sharp acidic cinnamon veil over all so my soul is here thinking and... — 6 years ago

From an area of sand and rock dunes betwixt sea and vineyards, WOW, it smells like kelp (in a great way) but also dried fruit and rosemary. Juicy with a super dry finish. Prunes and chocolate waltz through. I adore. — a year ago
