Kirsch, black raspberries, iron, clay, rust, maitake mushrooms, cloves, forest floor. Rounded acidity, minimal smooth velvet tannins, plush satin texture, medium bodied, earthy, slight smoky finish. From 3 lieux-dits Beaune side, 1 in Prémeaux-Prissey, 30% new oak. Polished, elegant, bright fruit, back palate hints at excellent complexity with 5 more years in bottle. Exceptionally well made Village. — 3 months ago
Black fruits, black and green peppercorns, dried thyme, sun dried tomatoes. Lively acid, medium juicy body, minimal smooth velvet tannins, herbal-peppery finish. Reactive nose blew off after 15 minutes, not reductive on palate. Great alternative to the sea of Barberas and Dolcettos. Wonderful food wine, high toned and mineral driven. Overdelivers. — 3 months ago
Bruised apple, quince paste, gardenias, lavender, walnuts, honeysuckle. Soft pronounced acidity, light medium bodied, juicy texture, floral-citrus zest-chalky finish. Acidic-mineral notes and finish are well balanced. Subtle, fresh, harmonious. — 6 months ago
Fuyu persimmon, dried stone fruit, flinstone vitamin, candle wax, black tea. Snapping acidity, rounded juicy texture, light bodied, long floral-stone fruit-salty finish. Initially shy and pedestrian bitter orange wine. Decant for 2 hours, best on day 2 and 3. Outstanding if you’re willing to wait. Sampled on Biodynamic fruit day. — 3 months ago
Blackberries, roasted plum, pottery soil, pencil shavings, bell pepper, iron. Moderate acid, minimal smooth velvet tannins, juicy-silky texture, medium bodied, fruity-earthy-slightly smoky finish. Biodynamic. Polished, felt like an evolved soif style. Recommend anything from Domaine de Juchepie. — 3 months ago
Lemon curd, elderflower, chalk dust, vanilla bean, hazelnuts. Rounded acid, plus mineral-oily texture, medium bodied, savory-floral-slightly briny finish. Oak dominated aromatics and palate, terroir shines once it blew off after 40 minutes. Beautiful chalky-floral notes, this one needs time in bottle or a patience in glass situation. Stunning once it hit its stride. Sampled on Flower day in Biodynamic calendar. — 3 months ago
Pomegranate, cherry liquer, eucalyptus, bay leaf, graphite. Rounded-energetic acid, medium-full, juicy-satin texture, smooth velvet tannins, long sweet herbal finish. Southern Rhône drinkers will love this, also makes for beautiful lamb/red meat pairings. Excels beyond price point. — 5 months ago
