One of the more compelling and complex WA reds I've had. Still deeply colored, intense nose of chocolate covered cherries, but with a reserved character, rather than over-the-top confected. Very well balanced and missing the sometimes, too fleshy/higher Ph I find disturbing in WA reds. — 5 years ago
A little bit of age on this classic wa wine. Love what it’s showing today. — 7 years ago
A wonderful tasting put on by Classic Wine Storage featuring Long Shadows Winery. If you aren’t familiar with these wines, they are phenomenal WA state wines that are made by the likes of Randy Dunn, Phillipe Melka, Michel Rolland, John DuVall, and more.
Dominant Sangiovese with some cab and a splash of Syrah. Rich style sangio wine. Sweet oak, dirty cherries, herbs, and a high percentage/bitter dark chocolate. — 8 years ago
Young but exhibits all the things I love about WA Syrah. Fruity with a little funk. — 8 years ago
Andrew Will wine tasting tonight at the storage facility. My knowledge and experience with WA state wines is small, so this was a great evening to learn and enjoy some very good wines.
Lots of dust and grittiness here. The nose is all fruit but the palate and finish is more savory. This is almost equal parts Merlot and cab franc. No green pepper. This needs a few years to really be properly enjoyed. I liked the potential of this wine more than any of the others. — 9 years ago
More for #wawinemonth! Not the same as other wines by Randy Dunn but solid WA Cab.
Deep ruby red. Layered and slightly aged nose with damp forest floor, baking spices, black cherries and dark red berries. Moderate tannins (7/10) and medium plus body. Definitely needs time to open and has a touch of heat. Complex palate with some bitter dark cocoa, dark fruits, twigs and black cherries. A bit angular but leveled out with time. A touch vegetal with a super long finish. Drink till 2020. — 9 years ago

Great WA red blend with cab franc — 7 years ago

This wine is made by Michel Rolland. Large and in charge merlot. Mocha, sweet pipe tobacco, and a lot of ripe blackberry. Nutmeg and cinnamon. Cab lovers merlot. — 8 years ago
Hearty! 13.8 ABV, but tastes "heavier", in a good way. 72% Merlot, 16% Cab Sauv, and some Cab Franc and Petit Verdon - brilliant mix! Chewy, berry, strawberry, stone, leather and all kinds of masculine flavors -brought to you by Carolyn Lakewold. One of the few WA wines I bought, interested to see what they do now that they have dropped the "collaboration" concept. 9.2, and loved it. — 9 years ago
Best WA Cab i can remember having. Complexity all over the place. Old world Bordeaux nose. Perfectly balanced palate. Slate, cinnamon, vanilla, stewed black fruit, tart cherry, tobacco, moderate tannins. So happy with this. All that for around $100. Happiness in a glass(es) on a Friday night — 9 years ago

This wine has a deep ruby hue. 👁️
👃🏻 The nose and palate 👄 resemble robust and ripe plum, cassis, candied black cherry, and blackberry bramble, violet, vanilla, nutmeg, coconut, cedar, clove, cigar, mocha, cocoa, and tobacco.
Tannins are soft, velveteen, and fine-grained. Alcohol is high (14.8%). Acidity is present. Structure is sound. The finish lingers.
This Columbia Valley, WA wine is downright delicious!! The kind of wine that could pop and pour now or age for 10+ years. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 — 4 years ago

Very fruitful and hearty. Not too much on the back end but a fantastic drink — 8 years ago
Great paring with a Spanish themed meal that included tri-tip steak and a fried chick pea salad. Wine was delicious - bold fruit forward and a smooth finish - a fine example of a top tier WA wine. — 8 years ago

Very aromatic. A tad floral...notes of violet and herbs. Purple in color, but mainly black in fruit color...blackberries, currant, black cherries. I preferred the '10 over this '13. But when it comes to two blondes, I have a feeling @Bill Bender doesn't discriminate 😉😂. — 9 years ago

Strong red blend and gentle tannins for not a lot of age, and for WA state for that matter. Was busy discussing business while drinking this so copying web tasting notes: “blackberry, marionberry, cassis, dried herbs, olive tapenade, cedar, vanilla, and coffee.” — 2 months ago
