Vertical tasting for Christmas and this vintage won my heart (though 2013 came in a close second). Most fragrant, full of berries...rich, decadent, lush.

Dark fruits, violet, cocoa, gravel and herbs. Complex and interesting palate until the finish of fresh red fruit with a touch of tart acid. Afterwards a lingering smooth grip of tannins with notes of the evolving flavors that preceded left me eager to try more. A really lovely blend with well integrated oak and an alcohol content one wouldn’t suspect.

This is a real value wine. I have always enjoyed Matthews wines but the seen to come and go from market . Sometimes years at a time. This is a delicious blend. Check it out.
