Lousas Vinas de Aldea Vinos Atlanticos Red Blend 2015

Crushed wild strawberries and strawberry jam on the nose. Smells like roses and maybe violets when it begins to open. Something vaguely Nebbiolo like with that scent. Good long finish. Easy but present tannins. We drank most of a mag. Would love to have sampled the rest today. — 17 days ago

Smoky paprika on the nose. Big and tannic on the tongue. Sharp end. Great value. — a month ago

Más Que Vinos

Ercavio Roble Vino de la Tierra de Castilla Tempranillo 2015

Pretty and bright fruit but smooth and long. Blueberries and cherry pie. Soft on the finish, I’m guessing the creamy texture so young as a product of its 3 months aging in amphorae, clay vessels used in Spain. This is a beaut of a Roblè though with only nine months total aging. — 4 days ago

Bodegas Bernabeleva

Arroyo del Tórtolas Garnacha 2017

A souvenir brought back from Vinos de Madrid from the reclaimed producer Bodegas Bernabeleva. The single vineyard Arroyo de Tórtolas is a remarkable wine, near rosé like in its color it’s carved with a velvet touch, it walks with grace, yet with such an impact on the palate. Enchanting red fresh fruit profile with plenty of savoury complexity hiding underneath and a aromatic lift that’s complete canvas. — 16 days ago

Bodegas Licinia

Vinos de Madrid Syrah Blend 2014

A souvenir brought from the interesting project Bodegas Licinia in Madrid. With some imagination you’ll find some Super Tuscany resemblance with a ripe dark fruit and floral profile with a good energy and well placed portion of oak. Hefty on the alcohol, but well embedded on the palate, with a solid intensity of ripe, yet fresh fruit, and a nice developing persistence on the palate. Good stamina throughout a solid finish.
With Cabernet Sauvignon the intension is to provide structure to the blend and yes it works; 50% Temperanillo 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Syrah and 5% Merlot. Elevage in french oak Barrique oak barriques.
