This wine is medium-dark ruby in the glass. I found the nose to be subdued, but notes of ripe cherries and redcurrant berries came through. I’d like to say that I noticed the effect of the chestnut barrels used, but they were half as large as the oak casks. My olfactory sense isn’t all that sharp, anyway. The palate is medium weight and a bit tart, showing raspberry and currant flavors. The tannins are medium firm and the acidity is bright. The medium finish carries tart fruit after the sip. — 2 months ago

Unexpected skin contact, light coloured Lambrusco. — 4 months ago
Standard Bearer of quality dry Lambrusco, which I return to periodically. . A reminder too to not be stingy with myself at under $15/14 a bottle. What’s beautiful here is the balance between a dark, brooding & frothy, joyful character. Pomegranate, black cherry, a touch of anise. A lot of quality stuffed into a outrageously well priced bottle. — 2 months ago
Tasted at Total Wine & bought a bottle. A little fruity. Not too bold. Good with steak. — 3 months ago
