Morey St. Denis Blanc Chardonnay 2017

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2017 M-S-D Blanc pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with fascinating notes of champagne cake, Comice pear, lemon zest, almond, and limestone earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long; laden with limestone minerals and grippy. Almost as if it is tannic! This is such a distinctive wine. I’m in love. Drink now through 2032. — 19 days ago

Clos de Tart Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2011

Great expressive red fruit, hints of a sunset in the farm. Taking the age well this 2011. Acidity is remarkable. — 21 days ago

Monopole Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2007

Another commentator said solid. And I think that is the right word. It is a good fine with a fine nose, but supple and somewhat flat body. Lacking acidity. Ready to drink. — 7 days ago

Domaine Ponsot

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1999

The 1999 Clos de la Roche VV pours a slightly hazy ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of ripe red and black fruits: raspberry, bruised strawberry, black cherry, dried red flowers, licorice, mushroom, sous bois, all spice. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and dripping with complexity. During the first couple hours, this was pretty locked up and willing to share its secrets. Towards the end of the night, this ended up being one of the wines what really started to pour it on. My favorite pairing with the boeuf Bourguignon. Drink now with some patience but better after 2029 and through 2049 with ease. — 2 months ago

Light body and color, but intense fruit. Raspberry, and the tannic character of the pips. Very fresh. — a month ago
