Poured into a decanter about an hour prior to service; no formal notes due to the setting. It has been a few years since I last enjoyed the 2015 and I am happy to report that it is now very much open for business. The fruit is on full display and the oak is much better integrated. The structure is still quite firm but I found everything to be in better balance than it was upon release. This is squarely and its drinking window and should remain that way through the remainder of this decade and likely, well beyond. Drink now through 2030+ — 10 months ago
Pretty darn close to old school Napa. — 3 years ago
This is the Artazu Pasos de San Martin Navarra, a varietal Garnacha. A bit sleepy before it gets air, it gradually Benjamin Buttons and develops a terrifically pure nose of kirsch and raspberry ooze, along with crushed rock dust and sandalwood. In the mouth it’s got intense fruit, but is laser-focused and has excellent acids. Zero flab.
Just enough tannin to package it all. Really nice rendition of Grenache. — 4 years ago
Often times lacking the acidity and tensions found in other countries, this is a beautiful example@of American riesling. While it shouldn’t be compared to a German Riesling for example, this still has a powerful presence. A bit more round but it’s enveloping. Very good stuff from a really good dude! — 5 years ago
Bought by friend. Really nice. Not expensive — 6 years ago

It’s the Crianza I was drinking. Expressive nose of red and dark (cherries, plums and blackberries), well handled oak and good acid — 3 years ago
El Puntido from Viñedos de Páganos is a 100% Tempranillo red wine from Rioja.
It is fresh, fruitforward with dark red fruits and quite some depth and length. Viñedos de Páganos is one of the many estates of the Eguren family, winemakers in Rioja with a 150 year history, amongst which Sierra Cantabria, San Vicente and La Nieta. — 5 years ago
100% Grenache from Madrid. Huge on the organics. Smoke, Earth and rubber on the nose. Earthy and minerals on the pallet. Jammy Fruit notes are prevalent on the mid-pallet. Complex and bold. Best with food. Quite a unique expression of an Old World wine. — 7 years ago
Mellow, low in tannins. Cherry overtones. — 3 years ago
Well balance, high acidity, red fruits can be kept in the cellar for a few years. — 5 years ago

2015 vintage. Light-medium/medium body. Elegant with just the right mix of primary and secondary characteristics currently. Some earthy tones, some pretty tones. Picked up 3 cases for an affordable ($35 a btl) domestic Cab with a decade of age on it. 2013 effort (not reviewed) had a slightly, off-putting, prunish note on the finish that wouldn’t leave the party so passed on it and went with this instead. 3.11.26. — 4 months ago
