This is a lovely and under appreciated wine that, for roughly $20, gives an enormous amount of pleasure. It has a silky texture with high acidity and well-balanced flavors of golden apple, lemon, pear, hay, chamomile and enough stony minerality to give a saline impression on the finish. It’s flavors are intense enough it can match up not only with light dishes like sushi or shrimp, but more pronounced flavors of grilled fish or chicken, and especially pastas like cacio e pepe or fettuccine Alfredo. Versatile as well as delicious — 4 years ago
2020 fall. Consistent with other recent bottles. I find this style very drinkable (which you would figure considering how much we’ve been putting away), and it’s quite versatile, but as someone who doesn’t generally like oaky wine outside of old school Rioja (and white Burgundy to a point), I have to remember to avoid pairings that make the oak taste bitter — 5 years ago
Ungrafted vines & lower alcohol levels allow you to enjoy the cherry and spicy cinnamon hints. The acidity brings a unique freshness while the tannins are subtle. This a very versatile table wine in pairing with salmon, pork tenderloin, pizza and great just to enjoy on its own. — 5 years ago
Popped and poured, consumed over three days and best on Day 2. No formal notes. This is the third vintage of Sandlands “Red Table Wine” from Lodi and it has become a “must cop” for me. Endowed with lovely fruit and zippy acid, it’s very versatile and a sublime pairing with a variety of meals. A combination of three varieties and three vineyards in three equal parts; Cinsault from the Bechthold (1886), Carignane from Spenker Ranch (1900) and Zinfandel from Kirschenmann (1915); 12 barrels and one 500L puncheon produced. — 3 years ago
The nose and palette smacks you in the face with a variety of dark purple flowers. You proceed to drink the rest just saying “WOW” with every sip. Great Syrah tasting line up. Melville was most versatile... great alone or with food, anytime, anywhere. Loved it! — 4 years ago

🍇 100% Arneis | Roero DOCG, Piedmont, Italy
A classic Northern Italian white, crafted from Arneis grapes sourced across the villages of Vezza d’Alba, Piobesi, and Monteu Roero, all part of the heartland of the Roero appellation.
On the nose:
Fragrant and inviting, with aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, and a citrus lift. A gentle thread of mineral elegance keeps it grounded and regionally expressive.
On the palate:
Dry, crisp, and clean, with a smooth texture, refreshing acidity, and a subtle, pleasantly bitter almond note on the finish — a signature Arneis trait. Light-bodied yet structured, it’s harmonious and polished, with more personality than your average summer white.
Food pairing:
Versatile and food-friendly, perfect with seafood, light pasta dishes, grilled veggies, and fresh cheeses like burrata or robiola.
A true gem from Piedmont expressive, regional, and quietly elegant.
Cheers to Arneis done right! 🍐🍋🌸
