One of my go-to California Chards. All the hallmarks I like. Oak notes of vanilla, butterscotch, and brioche toast, but balanced by high acid and minerality. The best of both worlds. — 4 months ago
Elegant one, citrus and Lychee. Chalk mineral. Thomas Fogaty Gewurztraminer Monterey County 17 @, Calist, 250920,90

Everything that you want from a French Chardonnay. Crisp. Acid. Green apple freshness. Minimal oak. Really beautiful. — 3 years ago
Notes of toasted bread, apples and strawberry. Soft tiny bubbles. Great on a summer evening. — 6 years ago
Crisp and mineral with citrus, green apple and white flower. Bright acidity and a long, clean finish. Had at Dunbar House with a local organic greens salad with fresh blueberries, goat cheese, and toasted sunflower hearts. — 13 days ago

Fresh, lively, apple flavours maybe a bit weak on the finish but very enjoyable — 5 years ago
A very interesting wine. A very difficult vintage that the winemaker addressed with stupid low yields. If you love wine, a great wine to drink to see how a very good winemaker handled a rough year in non elite terroir. His 1er crus were sick in 17.
Nose is purplish. Dark. Swirling. Sexy. But a bit Brutish but in a sexy way.
Palate is dark fruit. Very very dense for a wine at this level. Very. The fruit outweighs the acidity although it’s not stewy at present.
I’d drink this now. It might peak in 6-12 months. But I have no idea. My gut is the far side of the mountain is steep. But man this is an effing fun drink today. If you have a bunch of save one for a few years just to see what happens. Science baby.

2023 vintage. FLB jetsam. Decanted and tasted after 30 minutes and 1 hour. Medium/medium-heavy body. Dark color. Round impressions. Pleasant berry escapades on the back end with spritzes of rhubarb. This was waay too young and could definitely use 2-3 years to dump the baby fat and reapply. Nicely made. Just needs more time to reveal all the wonders within. 6.26.26. — 2 months ago
dfp ~$35/bottle , loved! a little floral — 8 months ago
Jasmine, quince paste, spiced pear, lemon curd, pineapple sweetness, punchy. Touch of lemon pith at end, but tons of juicy acid. Creamy / lactic. Chalky minerals. Layered, delicious, weighty.

Needs an hour decant.
Nose : faded dried lilacs. A beautiful old woman selling books in the market. Profound poetry written on faded ink and read from withered pages. A tinge of earth.
Palate: so silky. Fleeting but in a persistent way. Nothing obvious or dramatic. Balance. An experience more than an event.
For me, a lover who jilted me. But still a love I remember fondly.
Burgundy. This could only be burgundy.
