Bright nose. Cherry, berry, tons of crushed rocks, floral. Palate is very juicy, linear and incredibly fresh. Terrific mid palate opulence and energy and big, grippy tannins pumping out sweet fruit and loads of stones. Very minerally showing today.

A beautiful, focused Bourgogne Rouge. Sappy red fruits coat your palate. Could be enjoyed every day, alas I didn't buy 30+ cases. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
Decanted 2H.

Prior notes still apply, no new notes, pop & pour format today to see performance under non-decant setting. All good. πŸ‘

Used for keeping the chef hydrated this afternoon while crafting today's batch of Peach jam. Fruits are coming in early this year, so I'm about three weeks ahead of most years. Yesterday was Apricot/Red Currant jam and Red Currant/Black Currant/Raspberry jam. Last weekend was a big batch of Red Currant jam. If you're a gardener, learn how to preserve your harvest into future years. Home canning will bring you great satisfaction to open a jar of something that'll remind you of warm weather when the snow is flying and piling up.

Pro tip for πŸ‘ jam, don't blanche all your skins off, they impart flavor and help add nice red-ish color to the finished product. (10, 8oz jars today)

Nose has very bright cherry, mashed red raspberry and old tree bark.

Palate has over-ripe cherry, dried blackberry, dried unsweetened cranberry and slight loamy soil. Young.

Uncorked and allowed to slow ox. for 24h before enjoying, no decanting.

A very interesting wine. A very difficult vintage that the winemaker addressed with stupid low yields. If you love wine, a great wine to drink to see how a very good winemaker handled a rough year in non elite terroir. His 1er crus were sick in 17.

Nose is purplish. Dark. Swirling. Sexy. But a bit Brutish but in a sexy way.

Palate is dark fruit. Very very dense for a wine at this level. Very. The fruit outweighs the acidity although it’s not stewy at present.

I’d drink this now. It might peak in 6-12 months. But I have no idea. My gut is the far side of the mountain is steep. But man this is an effing fun drink today. If you have a bunch of save one for a few years just to see what happens. Science baby.
