Interesting and totally unexpected. Last dinner out before COVID-19 at the Naschmarkt. — 6 years ago
Color of light black tea. Nose is quite spicy, a bit smoky and peaty, ripe apple, and more spiciness in the nasal cavity. Taste is unexpected sweet, with spiciness takes the backseat, flowering and honey notes, a bit minty, and some more hotness, quite smooth and dense enough. Aftertaste of more honey note and lingering warmth. Not bad at all as crowd pleaser. I am surprised by the low ratings overall from the community. — 7 years ago
Very tropical and some unexpected RS — 8 years ago
Really robust Nero d'avola. Not as light and juicy as expected. Big dark fruit. Medium tannins. Very unexpected. — 8 years ago
Fresh but with some unexpected oxidative notes. Citrus, toast, white flowers, white pepper, stone fruit, precise and mineral driven — 6 months ago
The best CDR I’ve had in recent memory and first from this producer. Huge nose of dry red (strawberry, raspberry, cranberry) and black fruit, underbrush/earth, black pepper, sage, and a subtle minty thing. The flavors had an unexpected depth, and continued to open and evolve over a meal (Asian bbq lamb chops). Tannic for sure, this may have been a bit much without food. Cairanne has become a go-to for me, especially for drinking young. This was just very good. — 7 years ago

An unexpected, fabulous Pinot Noir! Superb!!! — 9 years ago
Giving absolute credence to the reputation that the wines from the Margaux commune show, both displayed an elegance allied with a subtle power and perfect balance, especially 2005.
2000 had a trace pyrazine note that I found unexpected, and quite frankly not that enjoyable. Outside of that the wine was perfect. The second bottle did not throw it as strong, so not exactly in the clear on this night.
The 2005 was in perfect shape, drink now or age it another 20 years easy, this was so enjoyable and balanced with perfect tannin integration and a seamless, dense and pure finish that sailed on forever.

2020 vintage. Wowzers. Unexpected structure and fruit to vault this into the Must Buy category. Medium body. Clocking in at $22.50...errr...$22.60 (don't forget that new $0.10 per bottle CRV cost here in California) a bottle. Picked up a case. Let's see where it goes-or doesn't. 7.17.24. — 2 years ago
Bright and acidic red fruits up with very unexpected old world flavors in the secondary palate. I took a chance and only purchased 2 bottles last year, I wish I bought more! Highly recommend, a great counterpoint to typical US Pinots. — 7 years ago
