Fig and plum, pinch of raisin. Silky texture, some forest and baking spice. Magnum — 4 years ago
Winding down Wednesday with a lovely, medium ruby, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, presenting ripe blackberry, black cherry, black currant, plum, fig, violet, and licorice primary aromas, and a bouquet of vanilla, clove, nutmeg, cardamom, and cedar secondary aromas, striking balance on the palate with well-integrated flavor notes consistent with the nose.
This wine is dry and nicely structured with medium(+) acidity, full body, high alcohol, and grippy tannins and the fruit is supple and beautifully concentrated. It has a long, elegant finish. — 6 years ago

Wednesday Wine Committee. Great hosting by Gavin. 1 sparkler, 4 whites, 4 reds and 2 dessert wines. All served blind as usual.
Roasted chestnuts, cinnamon, old raspberry fig and a surprising amount of heat on the nose and palate. Shocked the alcohol is that prevalent at this age! Mellowed a bit slightly in the glass, and the added notes of graham cracker and potpourri became noticeable. I called this 40yr port. — 7 years ago

Wow. Almost Chardonnay-like. A bit buttery. Great with fish. — 8 years ago

Tried several bottles, all great! Founded by Cody and Marque Wright, yes that family of the great Ken Wright Pinot’s very nice small production Pinot, 1700 cases, sourced from 8 vineyards. Ruby, purple hues with aromas of blue and red fruits with an array of spices. On the palate youthful flavors of cherry and fresh strawberry, licorice notes with elegant spice. Fine tannins, long ending with fruit and tangy spice and mineral notes. Great now but a few years will bring out more of the wines complexity. — 5 years ago
I could drink bottles of this at a time. Cherry juice, versatile, maybe a little spicy? The “other” dankness from Oregon. — 6 years ago

Polished Cab Franc with well integrated wood notes, currants, black cherry, bramble, and herbs, coffee. Light green pepper. Had with meatballs with mushroom gravy and polenta. — 7 years ago
5 years ago I proposed to my wife at this beautiful estate high up in St. Helena and luckily she said yes! The views were absolutely stunning and the wines have been up to par as well. Although some tertiary notes are kicking in the high 15.1% alc keeps the wine young and fresh as well. The higher altitude of the vines likely works in the wines favor for sure. #happyanniversary — 8 years ago
Medium lemon color, with Tropical and stone fruit aromas with complex spice and oak notes. On the palate flavors of ripe apple, melon and citrus, creamy, with toasty oak, fig and honey tones. Long finish ending with fruit, oak and spicy mineral character. A big wine! — 10 months ago
A surprise addition of the night. A great blend, about 75% Cab, 14% merlot with CF and PV filling in the remainder. Plum, blackberry and fig show through nicely. Touches of vanilla. — 4 years ago
Stunning nose of brambly dark red fruit and black tea. Bacon fat and scorched clay on the entry followed by a broad beam of melted tannins and fig, iron, Provençal spices and lavender. 45+ second finish. Outstanding, another great bottle though now at its apogee (but likely to stick around and turn to burgundy over time). — 5 years ago
Delicious California Lagrein. — 6 years ago
CADE 2014 cabernet sauvignon from Howell Mountain. Well. You know what Im going to say... Good God Almighty! What an incredible 2014 Cali Cab! It opens with an explosion of blackberry and blueberry and dark currant. With a hint of fig in the background. Then ever so smoothly comes the buttery velvet mid palate. Followed by big OAK and SMOKE. Followed by the sprinkling of spice and black pepper. The finale is a semi dry pavement of deliciousness that a NASCAR driver would drool over. And no I’m not talking beer and whiskey! - Dr Todd and Herron Family Wines. — 7 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Established in the village of Marsannay in the 1960's by Bernard Coillot, father of owner Christophe Coillot. Deep Ruby red color with aromas of berry fruit and spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with notes of fig, mushroom and spice. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and earthy mineral character. Very Nice! — 3 months ago
