The Highland Supreme

Morgan

Highland Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay 2020

Lemon, oak, and butter, but all nicely balanced. Medium body, medium plus acid, medium alcohol, and medium plus finish. I’ve been a longtime fan of Morgan chards, and this one doesn’t disappoint given the price point. — 4 months ago

Aged 18 Years Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Golden amber color. Briny, diluted iodine, smoky, red fruit, floral and herbal notes on the nose. Warm mouthfeel. Hints of sherry and stewed fruits on the palate. — 4 years ago

Macallan Distillery

12 Years Old Double Cask Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Delicious. Rich caramel and honey. Smooth. Matured in American and European oak. Asks seasoned with sherry from Jerez. — 4 years ago

Glenfarclas

30 Years Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskey

This just gets better as it opens but also liked it more in isolation. When you are tasting a lot of scotches this one starts to get lost. It’s gentle, subtle, smooth. You can’t I would argue flipping between 5 other strong profile drinks. — 3 years ago

Tonight’s nightcap 🥃

During our stay at the hospital for the birth of our son some dear friends of ours brought my wife & I a care package. In it were all manner of goodies and treats, as well as a bottle of champagne and this scotch. They know us all too well 🤫🤷🏻‍♂️
.
Caramel, creme brûlée, charred orange peels, and Christmas spice cake on the nose. Mild notes of moss on the palate with a pronounced but welcome warmth on the way down. Smooth and perfectly suitable for ending the day with.
