Acidic nose and very smooth — 12 days ago
We buy this wine a lot. They deliver to the Bible Belt yet this bottle was weird. The cork read Louis Jadot. It’s clearly Italian wine. I inquired about this and learned corks come from Portugal.
I’m literally consuming grapes whilst dropping knowledge you all prolly knew. 💁🏻♀️ — 21 days ago
Friday night and I have opened the 2017 Hirsch Vineyards San Andreas Fault Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.
The nose reveals good fruit of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, cinnamon, spice, vanilla, rose petal, a touch of oak, mushroom, wet leaves and forest floor.
On the palate there is wonderful notes of cherry, ripe strawberry, re & black raspberry, spice, cinnamon, herbs, light oak and earthy forest floor.
This wine is medium bodied, very well balanced with medium + acidity and medium to + mouth coating soft chewy tannins that leaves you with a long juicy fruit earthy finish. Did everyone have a wonderful week? I sure hope so and I would love that this weekend is going to be safe and healthy for everyone. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 9 hours ago
Tonight it showed excellent, just so good (actually this bottle was way better in shape than the 2016 I had a few months ago).
Typical and racy.
Paired with a traditional Cotoletta alla milanese out of a grass fed veal rib. — 20 days ago
This Italian white wine sports a nose full of minerals and hard citrus with a nice savory streak to back it up. The straw-colored juice has a fantastic salinity on the palate, which is mostly minerals. The mouthfeel is a bit fuller than expected, but acidity is bright and fresh. Pair this wine with seafood, especially shellfish or a creamy chowder.
