Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2019

Note to self: a nutty, round gem of a wine with a varietal that sounds like a place. — 6 days ago

Poggioaicieli Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2015

We buy this wine a lot. They deliver to the Bible Belt yet this bottle was weird. The cork read Louis Jadot. It’s clearly Italian wine. I inquired about this and learned corks come from Portugal.
I’m literally consuming grapes whilst dropping knowledge you all prolly knew. 💁🏻‍♀️

Whaaaaat. The cork is recycled? lol

@Riccardo L. Someone told me Louis Jadot made a surplus of corks. Sounds odd but 🤷🏻‍♀️

La Marca di San Michele

CapoVolto Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 2018

Floral nose that really jumps. Layered tropical/exotic fruit on the palate. The acid is there, but it need to open to show the freshness along with the rich fruit. Great wine for a beautiful summer night. — 19 days ago

Hirsch Vineyards

San Andreas Fault Pinot Noir 2017

Friday night and I have opened the 2017 Hirsch Vineyards San Andreas Fault Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.

The nose reveals good fruit of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, cinnamon, spice, vanilla, rose petal, a touch of oak, mushroom, wet leaves and forest floor.

On the palate there is wonderful notes of cherry, ripe strawberry, re & black raspberry, spice, cinnamon, herbs, light oak and earthy forest floor.

This wine is medium bodied, very well balanced with medium + acidity and medium to + mouth coating soft chewy tannins that leaves you with a long juicy fruit earthy finish. Did everyone have a wonderful week? I sure hope so and I would love that this weekend is going to be safe and healthy for everyone. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

This one is bone dry and driven by minerality. Petrichor, and wet stone dominates. — 6 days ago

Cascina San Michele

Primevi Barbera d'Asti 2017

Tonight it showed excellent, just so good (actually this bottle was way better in shape than the 2016 I had a few months ago).
Typical and racy.
Paired with a traditional Cotoletta alla milanese out of a grass fed veal rib.

Quite dry, and with lots of acid. Leans towards greener fruits. Lime zest, kiwi skin. Lengthy, fresh finish. — 6 days ago

Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2019

This Italian white wine sports a nose full of minerals and hard citrus with a nice savory streak to back it up. The straw-colored juice has a fantastic salinity on the palate, which is mostly minerals. The mouthfeel is a bit fuller than expected, but acidity is bright and fresh. Pair this wine with seafood, especially shellfish or a creamy chowder.

Trout Gulch Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018

A bit disjointed at this early stage. Not my favorite of the Ceritas pinots, but solid. Very light and full of red cherries. — 7 days ago
