Bruno Giacosa

Santo Stefano di Neive Riserva Barbaresco Nebbiolo 1988

Brownish amber color, translucent. Sweet nose. Notes of cherries, sweet raisins, roses, some tar, dark earth and peppery spice. Rich mouth feel. Silky. Fruit is faded at first but then becomes a bit more prominent. Needed 3 hours of air to power up the structure and acidity. In hour 5 this was singing! The amber color and slightly faded fruit scares me about how long of a life these bottles have, but there’s no denying that tonight this is a powerhouse and hopefully it delivers for many years to come. — 11 days ago

Many years left but no regrets opening this up now, though it definitely needed air to really show its stuff. — 20 days ago

Crozes-Hermitage Syrah 2015

初めてのシラーでしたが、ぶどうの芳醇な香りと花畑の広がる香りとかが入り混じった良い香りです。タンニンはまろやかで、酸味は軽めでコクがあり、とても飲みやすいワインです。 — 4 days ago

Les Beaux Monts Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2014

An excellent bottle at this price point and its something pretty rare for Vosne-Romanee these days. Light extraction but good concentration with the tell tale spicy and floral aromas, with elegant tannins and medium length mouth. Its a producer we never heard of before and are happy to discover, thanks to our friend John Truax from Flatiron Wines. Recommended. — 23 days ago

Santo Stefano Di Neive Barbaresco Nebbiolo 1999

Great nose. Leather, roses, tar. Intense fruit. I’ll wait a bit. Drying a bit after an hour. Not quite as fresh as you’d hope.. nice wine but have had better bottles — 5 days ago

Barbaresco Bruno Giacosa Red Wine 2005

erto l

pop n pour. three cycles in the 90 minutes it lasted. 1) excellent nose, soft yet bright, what one hopes for with barbaresco. 2) muted out, nose faded. mouth faded, thinking it too old and ordinary:-( 3) rebirth, nose back and rhymes with stage 1. Yet, deeper this go. fruit there but fainter as second/third characteristics start to show. sadly, not a magnum so unable to report further. More study required;-) — 13 days ago

A bright, citrusy sour cherry and red currant saline pleasure. A great way to help friends celebrate a new home. Should have bought more bottles of this. — 13 days ago

Domaine Bruno Clavelier

Vieilles Vignes Les Corbeaux Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2013

A very lightly extracted wine that is consistent with Monsieur Clavelier approach. Dark robe and black cherry notes on a very austere and masculine wine, very consistent with the climat. Well done, balanced and very good indeed. Has many years of cellar ahead of it and its for sure above average for the vintage. We prefer more delicate wines but this one is top notch in the register. — 17 hours ago
