Slightly less advanced colour , still garnet rim . Lovely sweet red fruit , rose , liquorice nose , very refined . On the palate riper and more generous but fresh red fruits , strawberry , raspberry , with floral touches also . Lovely balance , really refined ripe tannins . Great balancing acidity . Drinking well now but will certainly improve over the next 10 years and continue at a high level for a further 10-15 years . It’s really the balance and poise of this wine that makes it so great , even with the structure and power there is such refinement and grace

Nov 6th, 2018Garnet ruby core considerable lightening at the edges, nothing exceptional for a 12 year old Barbaresco. Quite reticent nose, closed, but offers notes of licorice , spice and tea. On the palate seems quite full bodied, certainly long. More red fruits than black. Sweet tannin and again the licorice and tea notes, dark chocolate also. Drinkable now with pleasure though will improve over the next 5 years or so and last another 10 or so I would imagine . Excellent
