The fruit for “Pi” is sourced from Foillard’s oldest vines on Côte du Py. These vines are believe to be more than 100 years old. Popped an poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2014 “Pi” pours a deep ruby/purple color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of funky dark fruit: black cherry, purple flowers, a whiff of horse blanket, sous bois and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Beautiful stuff. Drink now through 2039. — 22 days ago

First vintage post-RPM, immensely enjoyable ten years on. As in Beaujolais, this CA interpretation is losing its original energy over time, but maintains its own signature profile. — a month ago
Light color color, floral, strawberry, low tannins, medium to low acidity, medium body, good — 6 days ago
v20. Very good! Bread and soft citrus zest nose. Fresh pear and lime fruit. Long, dry, bright yeasty finish. Small, firm lasting bubbles. Enjoyable! — a month ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Consistent throughout. The 2014 pours a slightly hazy purple/garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart strawberry, blackberry, purple flowers, dried green herbs, horse blanket and rocky minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium. A Côte de Brouilly of great character. Drink now through 2034. — 21 days ago
