Very pleased with this wine! Stone fruit, papaya, florals, almonds, minerals and mild honey and vanilla. 45 min decant. Butter was present on the nose but surprisingly not on palate!
To me this shows more Burgundy in style 👍..appreciate the 13% alc.
Apparently this is #25 of Wine Enthusiast top 100 of 2021. It also received a rating of 94 from ? Every time I pick up the glass it changes! — 3 days ago
Spectacular bottle. With MrAllen post the usual but nonetheless the lush black and blue fruit, combined with the savoury twist and firm but ripe tannins made this last in the mouth for an eternity. Yes. — 6 days ago
Our favourite and go to white. — 4 days ago
Wow. I’m speechless. Comes rushing out of the gates and doesn't let up. Melange of tropical fruit as well as cool climate fruit on the nose, exotic yet essential. Palate is so poised, beautifully balanced, with an amazing line of acid. Oak is elegantly woven through.
Precise sweetness and tartness drill into your palate. Remarkable juice! — 2 days ago
Fast becoming one of my all time favourite wineries I am yet to have a SF wine that wasn’t incredible. This is half the price of the Shiraz but 98% as good. — 4 days ago
Nose is layered with bright and rich raspberry amongst lots of savoury leather and oak spice complexity. More and more of the same on the palate with terrific structure and length. Awesome, I just had to keep coming back to this. (Cab Sauv, Merlot, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec) — 13 days ago
Unscrew and pour yesterday. Noted from 24 hrs open. Fantastic PQR. Lovely meyer lemon and soft mango notes, some oak-influenced vanilla, but very stylish. On the palate: lovely acidity, soft slate, good density and a juicy finish. At the garagiste price of about 27 bucks, this is leaning in the case buy direction. Yum. — 3 days ago
Initial impressions were mint, capsicum and herbs. Savoury winning out over fruit. More red currant rather than black currant Barb thought. Expected a little more mid palate fruit which is one of the reasons that Margaret River Cabernet is more complete than the cooler climate Frankland River (south east of Margaret River) where this is the product of a single vineyard. Don’t get me wrong this is still a wonderful Cabernet which honours the amazing contribution of Jack Mann who made wine for Houghtons for 51 consecutive vintages. — 4 days ago
Really tasty and smooth - very easy — 5 days ago
Low intervention Cab from Margaret River, AU. Everything i've had from Windows Estate has been outstanding. Opened this way too young, but still quite enjoyable. Elegant, nice acid, bright fruits, good length. Packed for the long haul. Bliss Wine Imports SF. — a month ago
