Love the varietal just not sure about this wine is the penultimate expression. Takes some time to open up but once flowered it’s nice. A bit fruity but not overly so which is a plus for me. Smooth with a nice finish. — 13 days ago
Another excellent btl. Pop and pour...very 2014 in being forward/ripe. On the nose: tea leaves, cola, spice, and cranberry. On the palate, fantastic, wild strawberry, cola, black tea...soft tannin on the finish. Showing wondeful secondary, and drinking very well...perhaps peak maturity? — 8 days ago
Vivid magenta. Highly perfumed, spice-tinged red/dark berries and pungent flowers on the expressive nose. Juicy and energetic on the palate The 2017 Select offers sappy raspberry, bitter cherry and mulberry flavors that slowly deepen through the mid-palate. The spice and floral notes repeat emphatically on a very long, penetrating finish that's framed by smooth, well-knit tannins. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, August 2020)

Notes from a day open. Yesterday, this was bretty upon opening. Much better today. On the nose: cocoa powder, plum, soft toast..lovely and elegant. On the palate, good acidity, plum, soft game. This is Chambolle-like today, like a Veroilles from Bruno Clair, with perhaps softer acidity and more alcoholic heat on the finish. Nevertheless, fantastic. — 3 days ago
The misses had a girls night out so had to go for something older and funky. Big minerals on the nose. Palate is like a bloody smoked steak dusted with rust and wrapped in bacon. Can’t believe it’s balanced and not hot at 15.5%. Pax is one of the only producers that can do that with so much alcohol IMO. — 15 days ago
Lighter for a cab, low tannins, but nice acidity. Smooth and delicious! — 4 days ago
This pale colored Grenache Rose was sourced from the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. Fresh and vibrant with a great combination of tension and viscosity, this reveals pretty rose water and watermelon flavors with shades of cantaloupe and sourdough bread on the palate. Seriously good now, enjoy this beautiful bottling over the next several years. Drink 2020-2025- 91 — 7 days ago
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Fruity nose of black currants, black cherries, blueberries, wood, earth, licorice, vanilla, chocolates, coffee and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, coke, tobacco, chocolates and black pepper.
Tangy finish with fine tannins and tangy cranberries.
This 6 year old Zinfandel is drinking very nicely now. Tasty with mild complexity and a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and better after 30 minutes of airtime.
This Single Vineyard is peaking now, and will be nice in the next couple of years.
Has high alcohol, but it is nicely integrated by now. Tangy and easy drinking. Interesting and enjoyable.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a prime rib sandwich, with au jus dressing.
15.5% alcohol by volume.
