A beautiful if lean Chardonnay that really needs a few years before opening. My wife didn’t like it and European with a European palate. Mineral, slate, smoke, orange pith, unripe pomegranate. Give it a few years and caramel will emerge and it will be beautiful. — 8 months ago
Tropical fruit (banana, pineapple, lemon bar, toast, cream, baguette, butter) long finish, medium acidity, medium alcohol? Medium body, medium plus flavor, primary and secondary characteristics, can drink now but has potential for aging — 3 years ago

2023 Les Granitiers Monterey County Chardonnay
This Chardonnay has nose! Delightful vanilla bean, white florals, and light herbals it's lightly reminiscent of Galliano.
Great acid, freshness, minerality. A real winner. Mr. Smith has done it again.
This is the best chardonnay I've had in 2024. — 2 years ago
This is incredibly delicious Gamay!! Bright fruits on the nose and pallete. Made with much care and precision. After a few sips youre left with the inner conflict of quaffing down the rest of it because it's so damn delicious and drinkable or continuing to sip it to discover further flavors and layers.

Pale gold with a constant stream of tiny, active bubbles. The nose is customarily stately and quite pretty with an abundance of apples at first whiff. A bit of lemon and biscuits come to play along with pears. The nose definitely matures in the glass over time revealing more chalk and stone as times goes on.
The new cuvée from Louis Roederer that focuses on individuality from one year to the next. A brand new blend based on the 2017 vintage alongside a perpetual reserve and reserve wines. 42/36/22 PN/CH/PM with a moderate dosage of 8 g/l. This is certainly a more baronial champagne but there is a bit of unexpected zest here as well. A wine that takes a bit of time, and probably years, to fully come alive and strut her stuff but it’s drinking quite well right now.
The palate features a burst of clean citrus fruit initially. Followed by a nice backbone of thankfully understated oak. Baked bread and Granny Smith apples with a touch of cinnamon. Something new from an old house and done in style. These are truly fun.

Wine and friendship are often synonymous. This bottle shared with Dino is a continuation of a journey many decades in the making. Dino introduced me to the magic of Cristal during our 20’s. Dino describes this as “liquid silk”. My comments begin with Toasty, brioche, Granny Smith apple, Asian Pear. Rich and lovely, young and elegant, nice now, but capable of more with time and patience. Why wait, our friends are here now. Cheers!! — 5 years ago
At the Henschke weekend at Spicers Maryvale. Brief notes. 100% Semillon grown on the Henschke Eden Valley vineyard. From 50 year old vines planted by Stephen’s father, Cyril. Very pale in colour. Aromatics of ripe grapefruit. Granny Smith apple on palate with a slightly soapy texture. Different to Hunter Valley Semillon and more approachable at a young age. — 2 years ago
Samuel Smith's Organic Pale Ale is a nice pint. Amber coloured with a good but not over frothy bread. Bready, malty, and with a hint of caramel complimented by light carbonation.
A good traditional pale ale from one of England's oldest and finest brewers. — 3 years ago
Very reminiscent of framboise, doesn’t really taste like an ale, nor alcoholic — 5 years ago
Black with burnt umber highlights. Low and creamy head springs with bubbles combining to undercut its great form. Fireworks lacing slow falls to leopard spots. Espresso and baker’s chocolate nose boasts licorice and chicory, campfire notes and vanilla. Palate shows none of the sweet elements of the nose initially. Instead, pipe tobacco and unsweetened bitter chocolate, the chicory and burnt toast prevail; a burnt tips taste lingering. Baked pecan, dark caramel, black pepper, and ethiopean coffee, with black chewing tobacco and vanilla bean complete the circuit. Power and restraint, in this lovely offering. This really did set the standard. #samuelsmiths #samuelsmitholdbrewery #tadcaster #NYorks #imperialstout #stout #englishstout #beer #classicbeer #bier #biere #birra #cerveza #cerveja #britbeer #britannia #ukberr #ukstout #britishbeer #britishstout — 6 years ago
Seth Masterson
This is a Syrah that is ready to go less than 2 years in the bottle!
Sam is a master at extraction and this wine shows it- maintaining an undeniable freshness while holding a strong stance in the weight and body department like it's been hitting the gym. Incredible presence and character and crunch! The balance of acid, tannin and fruit is a waltz, no actually more of a symphony of harmonics.
