Rich bright and dark fruit - black and red cherry, black and red raspberry- with note of coffee bean and sambuca. Perfect balanced acidity with tamed soft tannins and a velvety finish. — 7 years ago
Loads of complexity! Nice boisenberry and cherry along with sambuca (that's right) and brownie, with a suggestion of, perhaps green bean. Tip of the cap to one of Livermore's best. Could go another 2 years... — 9 years ago
Oh yes! Black fruit, boiled in sambuca. Big, soft, all you'd expect. — 11 years ago

Yes, please, to this developing wine with notes of fresh blackberry, plum, tart black cherry, violet, black licorice anise, sambuca, fennel, cedar, nutmeg, cinnamon, cedar, sweet tobacco, and clove. 100% Sangiovese from Tuscany.
Acidity, alcohol, tannins are strong! Solid structure; wish we’d held on for longer. Still lovely now though.

Very different expression of this wine from what I remember with different vintages tasted in the past
Quite refined, hard to tell the texturally magnificent support of fairly large wooden barrels
Has a unique shade of sambuca or aniseed that I had only found in some southern German riesling
Long and memorable after taste
As if it had some extraordinary notes given by a beginning of an oxidation — 7 years ago

Weird... If it was a blind taste, I'd swear this was young. As a 2010, I am unpleasantly surprised. A Sambuca nose. With clove or some Christmasy spice. Not digging it. Maybe it will pair with this fish but I'm not optimistic. Big letdown after starting the night with a bottle of Veuve. Shout out to peeps @Bill Bender and @Shay Aldriedge And @Kimberly Anderson .

Well, this one's nice... Very silky. Black sambuca. Freshly-picked blackberry fruit with some leaves and stalks in the basket. Deep and tingly. We got this one from the winery a couple of years back after an amazing tasting session. — 11 years ago

Plump and round. Almost has a sambuca/licorice quality accented by berries. Very rich, might need some time to open. — 12 years ago

Classy and simple label. Still a pretty perfect golden hue even four years in. Smells funky. Herbs like artemisia and sage with maybe a hint of lemons. Flavors are dry, tart and complex. Gravel or river rocks meets sambuca and orchard grass. Like when you pluck a fresh sprig of grass and chew on the green stem. This is a stunner of a Sauv Blanc. Clean and clear with lots of gratifying strangeness. — a year ago
