Rotation

Cornas Syrah 2014

Consumed over several hours and this was all about “a point in time”. The rotation of red and green flavors reminded me of a roulette wheel. Olives and red fruits played a game of hide and seek, occasionally teaming up with tobacco and darker fruits. Intense yet so seductive. Would have liked a longer finish. A wine that I can see being very polarizing due to the assertiveness of its many components.. — 3 months ago

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Sangiovese 2017

Real nice, dense, Sangiovese! Lite on funk but full on flavor. Should be in the Italian rotation if available at BP. — a year ago

Very light. Great for a hot day. Affordable. We are going to put this in our regular rotation. — 2 years ago

815 California Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Great bang for the buck! Whiffs of Great Grandma's sofa and a smooth plumby finish. Very easy to drink without being too light. Just might become part of the weekly rotation! — 4 years ago

Sorte O Soro Godello 2014

I love when a wine schools me. Opened my first bottle a few years back and thought, big on price and low on return.
It is clear after tasting the wine today, I was clueless and my initial assessment was way off. I clearly did not “get “ what this wine is all about. On the nose Chablis’esque with some reduction that eventually blew off. In my mouth, so much going on. Wonderful concentration and balance with a constant rotation of saline , stone fruit, apple and creaminess. All of this swaddled in vibrant acidity.

Artist Series Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Haven’t tried this series in years and now regretting its absence in my rotation. 2013 still youthful and strong. Grainy tannin, blue fruit and a balance of acidity. After 4 hours in a decanter, this wine is barely showing any signs of fading. Simply wonderful. — 3 years ago

Coteaux du Languedoc Picpoul-de-Pinet Picpoul Blanc

Overdelivers. Yes this is slammable with oysters but also gives something to think about if you want it. Honey, saline, mineral, citrus, acid. Adding this to regular rotation of delicious inexpensive white. — 4 years ago
