1982 vintage. Respectable fill and cork. Decanted and tasted after two hours. A bit prunish in the nose but that didn’t translate into the flavor profile. Medium body. Still lots of ripe fruit with a decent amount of acidity. Much better than anticipated. Holding strong. 3.5.24. — 2 months ago

Excellent. From Wegmans — 2 months ago
Ripe but balanced, suave and smooth. A very fresh nose with green underbrush. A combos cooling palate (in flavor) yet warming (in abv). Sweet tobacco and vanilla weigh in. And oh hey it finishes more savory than sweet—dried leaves and allspice? I’m into it. — 3 months ago
Yeah, what can I say. Nice wine for sure, but for some reason when I see the Silver Oak label my expectations rise. Realizing this is the Alexander Valley version. But 2011! Thirteen years old. Still rather single note, strong oak tannins still overshadowed what maybe underneath it. A bit disappointed I am afraid. We pulled it out with my first ever Tomahawk ribeye… so yeah. — 3 months ago

I guess I’m drinking this too soon! Need to better manage the cellar… tremendous fruit on the nose as I decanted that became more vegetal with time. Bright and leathery on the tongue, rich and luscious in the mouth. Strong tannins — easy to see how others are enjoying it at twice the age. — a month ago
Birthday year wine for me! Might not be the best Tig vintage, but nothing to scoff at. The ‘88 is getting to be almost last prime, this time bottle showing well. Rusty red with strong aromas of cigar box, leather, and pencil shavings. Drinks slightly thin, and im not getting much fruit. Still, it’s tasty and a special vintage to me. — 2 months ago
