Seduction Brut 2009

This bottle has improved considerably over the past years. Now 5 years after disgorgement, this was aged for seven years prior to that date in 2017. Blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. — 12 days ago

Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir 2018

I absolutely love the 18’s from Louis Michel. It’s aromatics soar and the palate seduces with its luxurious texture, verve and purity of fruit. So so giving, and so much to offer as a young wine. Village? Wow. — 7 days ago

Robert Oatley

Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Impossible not to like this Margaret River Cabernet from Robert Oatley, a bright, fresh and compact example of the variety with good concentration to the fruit and a satisfying herbal, mineral and tannic edge. This got better with air, showing best on the second night having popped and poured on the first. A wine for early drinking, but an impressive one at that. — 5 days ago

Les Vaucrains Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Delectable Wine

The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Vaucrains 1er Cru has a fresh, tertiary nose with perhaps just a touch of brettanomyces, though it opens nicely with aeration, a pleasant ferrous element coming through. The palate is medium-bodied, taut and fresh, with sappy red berry fruit, fine delineation and a prudent sprinkling of white pepper toward the finish. This is a well-crafted Nuits Saint-Georges with plenty of personality. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, January 2022)

Robert Craig Winery

Affinity Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Opened another bottle, aging nicely. A blend of 76% Cab Sauv, 8% Cab Franc, 7% Merlot, 5% Malbec & 4% Petit Verdot, 18 months in 60% new French oak, deep Ruby, purple edges, with aromas of berry fruit, sweet herb and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of cherry, ripe blackberry and currants with notes of cacao and sweet herbs. Long finish, grippy ripe tannins ending with graphite and earthy mineral. Drink now & over next few years, I still have a few bottles in cellar! — a day ago

Les Amoureuses Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Delectable Wine

The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has a tight, quite backward nose that demands more coaxing than Christophe Roumier's Les Amoureuses , but it is easy to fall for the dark brambly fruit mixed with sous-bois and light tobacco scents. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy tannins, zesty and quite citric, offering desiccated orange peel and blood orange flavors. Fresh and sorbet-like on the finish. This Les Amoureuses should age with style. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, January 2022)
