Fantastic value
Very complex
Some may be put off by the lack of body and typical characteristics of heavier cab but silky medium body slightly tannic slightly acidic sweet and hot.
Earthy mushroom pencil shavings cherry vegetal on nose. Anise pomegranate chocolate cherry earthy black pepper on palate. Very underrated — 3 months ago
Very fine flavoured “Trappist”. Love it! — 4 months ago
I haven’t had a Napa Chardonnay in quite a while. This is very nice. Very fragrant, with ripe orchard fruit, a nice florals, very light touch of barrel aging toast, and an interesting wet clay minerality. Denser in the mouth than the nose led me to expect. Low-toned cracked dark stones, with the fruit taking a back seat. Quite full bodied, but there is nice, subtle acidity to lift it just enough. Seem to me the closest French analogy is a well-made Pouilly-Fuisse. Got this for under $25 at Costco. — 5 months ago
Really nice just a bit short on the palate and finish — 9 months ago
It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Nice nose of chocolates, cedar, licorice, spices and peppercorn.
Dry and fruit forward on the palate with nice complexity. Full-bodied with medium acidity.
Showing red and black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, coffee, light cola and chocolates.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This 9 year old Merlot is drinking beautifully now, and the great 2014 vintage is showing very well.
Feels like a Right Bank Bordeaux right out of the bottle, but after 3 hours of airtime it feels like a Napa Cabernet.
This Single Vineyard is showing nice complexity with nice balance, and will continue to age nicely in the 10 years.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
93 points.
