Another solid vintage of this NZ Sauvy B. Bright golden color with green highlights. Aromas of citrus, fresh herbs/grass and tropical fruit. Flavors of grapefruit, lime, passion fruit with a mix mineral/wet stone based backbone. Distinct saline note on the long and crisp and clean finish. Bright acidity and medium body and alcohol (13.5%). Solid freshness and precision. Enjoyed with Asian food at Youyu in the Hard Rock in Atlantic City. — a month ago
A little leaner than previous vintages of Mates Vineyard that I’ve had. More citric flavours than stone fruit. Citric acid at the finish. Always destined to be a leaner style from this vintage I believe. — a month ago

How a summer white wine should taste! — 7 days ago
Such an easy sipper! Citrus, acid, light bodied, herbal grassy finish. Good bang for your buck. My choice to wake up the palate before a tasting. Can’t go wrong with this Sauv. — a month ago
Delicious tropical citrus fruit and water like color. Goes down that well also. — 2 months ago

This is the 2019 Hunting Hill, same vintage as the recently tasted Kumeu River Coddington. The Coddington remains the more opulent of the Kumeu cuvées. A mouth watering salinity. In this one. As Bob Campbell MW said, this is a Burgundian style (lacking the stone fruit of the Coddington). Although several previous vintages of Mates Vineyard have proved, at least to my palate, that it is the premium Cuvée. — 9 days ago
