Sonoma Coast Rosé of Pinot Noir 2022

Excellent Pinot rose. Similar to 2021 vintage. — a year ago

Podere Scopetone

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

Very classical brunello with all elements in the right corner. Modest but intriguing red fruits, pretty tannines and a decently long finish. 100,- + @ Pekelhaaring Amsterdam was maybe a 30,- off — 2 years ago

Corner Stone Stellenbosch Pinotage 2017

This wine tastes like pinot. Very good one. High, but pleasant acidity. A clove, maybe plum, vanilla. A bit spicy finish. — 3 years ago

Rochioli

Three Corner Vineyard Pinot Noir 2011

2012 vintage. Really good; developed some additional notes beyond the big youth. Someone noted they smelled it 6 feet away. Indeed fragrant. — 4 years ago

Tamar Ridge

The Devil's Corner Chardonnay 2021

Clean, crisp and flavorful - a bit riper than Chablis but very much a cool climate Wine; this has green apple, green pear, acacia, flint and wet stone, and a bright bit of herbal greenery in the background. There is more body here than in Chablis with a hint of creaminess on the palate. Really enjoyable, a food-lover’s wine. Grilled lobster, steamed shrimp, fried chicken, the possibilities are endless. — 2 years ago

The Ojai Vineyard

Roll Ranch Vineyard Syrah 2002

Alive and kicking after being rescued from the back corner of the cellar. Black plum and raspberry fruit with smoked meat, baked earth and accents of wild herbs. Palate has a touch of raspberry jam with herbal notes and more roasted and smoked meats. Just enough tannin to feel the wine focused. Fun to find this drinking well even though it fades a touch with air. — 3 years ago

Arbe Garbe

Catie’s Corner Vineyard, Tanya’s Vineyard and Pagani Ranch Malvasia Bianca Blend 2017

ESF
8.9

Overpriced exotic white blend from Sonoma: you get a bunch of that Malvasia nose, very floral, fennel, herbs, citrus-y, silky on palate, nicely integrated acidity - more austere on palate, lean/angular, herbaceous green edged, but w/decent power — 2 years ago
