Decanted over several hours. Lots of sediment. Cork was intact but soaked. Delicious and a bit sweet on first pour. Opened more over next hour. Deep color but not opaque. Could see through barely to bottom and lightened to the edges. Cedar cassis and black fruit. Quite smooth and refined. The reverberating finish lasted and repeated. Thoroughly enjoyed over five hours and it only improved with each hour. This was excellent. — 9 months ago
Decant for sediment and pour(decent chunky/fine sediment). A remarkable murky magenta color with bricking. On the nose: beautiful nose of stewed black fruit/currants, floral, herbaceous, burnt embers, spearment. Taste: classic old school Napa, juicy, balanced, savory wine with dark cherry, baking spice, smoke, sweet tobacco and a nice long earthy cocoa finish. YUM! Drinks well at year 20 and glad to have another bottle. — 2 months ago
Picked this up from Rex or White. Served with a charcuterie board with Debbie and David. — 6 months ago
Opened smoothly and the cork was soaked deep red. Immediate hit of perfume and an inviting aroma at the bottle and on first pour. The wine is rich and velvety. Nice balance between inviting but limited mature fruit and a finish with earthy elements and the alcohol was at the right level. Lots of depth to this. It has a weighty mouthfeel. It’s a lingering joy. — 9 months ago
2011 might be a forgotten vintage but this CB is really memorable. Did a pop and pour and it had great aromatics straight away. Medium to full bodied. Velvety. Layered. Dark berries, herbs, black tea, licorice, bay leaf. First wine on the trip to France. Great start! — 3 months ago
Decant for sediment and pour. Still a wondrous dark garnet with bricking. On the nose: beautiful gotta keep coming back notes of dark plum, smoked meat, cigar box, touch of barnyard funk, vanilla spice. Taste: silky smooth with brambly cherry, dirt, leather, cedar, grilled peppered meat with a medium plus finish. YUM! Still drinking well at 33 years old. — 9 months ago

This was a nice pour out of 9L served up by their Winemaker, Trevor Durling. He and his team are a great group of people.
Really excellent evolution. Classic Private Reserve George Latour style. Fine, dark tarry tannins, dark cassis, wet clay, sandalwood, used tobacco, light herbaceous notes, understated lead pencil, some baking spices, dark spice, withering dark & red flowers, excellent round acidity, balance for days, soft structure & tension and an elegant, round, plush, velvety finish that close to two-minutes. — 18 days ago
