Big fruit with lime leading and citrus nation dragged into the vortex. Kefir, lemongrass toasted brioche. Palate: Lemon juice and pith, ditto the lime, big splashes of starfruit, quince and grapefruit suppressed in chalky adhesion. Clean and focused, brilliantly backlit by cool herbs and ends with lime zest and juicy lime and just a few drops of saltwater.

Enjoyed this Cab Sauv/Merlot blend at a Mexican dinner on the resort. We had the opportunity to try the El Cielo winery last year and while in Mexico, seems logical to try the wines of that nation. And . . . This is worth trying. — 7 years ago
Consumed 10/2017. Australian. Alcohol by content is 14.5% which is a bonus!! 😉 I picked this up at world market, and I think it was in the $20 range, but may have been even less. I think this is the top-of-the-line from this franchise of their wines. It was not bad.!! Taken from the bottle: from the late 1700s to the late 1800s approximately 162,000 men and women were transported via boat to a desolate island for a violation and conviction of one of 19 crimes. The Warden celebrates those who cleverly ruled these cutting convicts with top guard, using them as a source of labor to build public facilities- transforming them into colonists who forged a new country brick by brick. THESE men and women, both incarcerated and their custodians, were the building blocks of the nation we would come to know as Australia. — 9 years ago
Wines are a nexus of time, place, food, friends, mood, and opportunity. Not to mention their roots of vigneron, climate, and terroir. Tonight, post-flight, in a cool Baltimore area steakhouse, jazz licks flying, and a meal of tasty barbecued mushroom filet, this bottle lived up to its full potential with plush spicy ripe dark berries, decent acidity, mild smooth tannins, and comforting freshness. Happy Monday, Delectable Nation! — 9 years ago

This is the wine we opened yesterday evening the 2009 Amavi Cellars Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. From Walla Walla, Washington I have always been very impressed with this winery. I have not had a bad wine from here since Gary Vaynerchuk reported on the 2007 a number of years ago and I rushed out to buy it on his recommendation. I have several vintages in my cellar and I believe at least one more 2007.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, licorice, leather, menthol, herbaceous notes and dark soil.
On the palate is black cherry blackberry, black currant, green bell pepper, spice, herbaceous and dark tilled earth.
This wine is full bodied smooth full mouthfeel medium+ acidity and medium + well integrated fine grained tannins the move seamlessly into a long dark fruit herbaceous dark soil finish. Here we are again on the precipice of our nations birthday. It is time to reflect on where we are in our lives and where we are going as a nation. I wish everyone a wonderful 4th of July long weekend since the 4th falls on Tuesday this year and I am sure many of us will be taking an extra long weekend. Enjoy yourselves and please be respectful of one another. Stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 3 years ago

In honor of San Diego legend Tony Gwynn. We have not been blessed with many winning teams in this town and absolutely zero championships (I don't count the '63 AFL title) but #19 was truly something special. I'm not sure how he was/is viewed in other parts of the nation but to me he was the greatest pure hitter of his era. George Brett, Boggs, Mattingly, Puckett and Molitor all come to mind as non power guys that got way more pub than him but absolutely nobody was more reliably consistent from the mid 80's to mid 90's than T. Cheers 🍻 to him up in that big 5.5 hole in the sky. — 9 years ago

Great as part of a 4th of July sangria. — 10 years ago
At home, discussing depressing pandemic news and how Arizona is last in the nation in testing per capita. But then uplifted by this wine that we got at Costco. Light on the tongue with cherries then a slight bitter touch heading off a tight finish. Stay safe everyone. — 6 years ago
Tangy, complex, and rich. Guggable. — 7 years ago
Ken Wright Willamette Valley Pinot Noir was an early formative wine for me. I buy it every vintage & this 2014 is singing tonight. Daydream Nation is a record that really expanded my view of what music can be all those years ago. Meaningful to enjoy these together tonight. — 8 years ago
A very good example of what agricole can be. Smells earthy, dirty. Tastes like leather. Smokey long woodyness aftertaste. Extremely long finish. One of my favorites. — 9 years ago
Absolutely amazing. Crisp, dry and very fruity. — 10 years ago
TGIF! Even though it was a short week, it dragged "like a mug" (wow! hella old skool term)!! The recent Police shooting in Dallas made me want to rush home and guzzle this baby down! Aahh... Yes, this cotês wine is so luscious I can't believe it's only $15! It's big and round, with delicious concentrated fruit, perfect amount of pepper and licorice spice with a and very nice .....strong "balance"! .... Clearly what our poor nation needs!! #prayingfordallas #gassierwine #k&lwines — 10 years ago

Cidery, citrus, sharp acid, with a creamy mouthfeel. Fun drinking, and also food friendly. Super interesting and would try again. — 2 years ago
