AleSmith Brewing Company
No. 394 San Diego Pale Ale
In honor of San Diego legend Tony Gwynn. We have not been blessed with many winning teams in this town and absolutely zero championships (I don't count the '63 AFL title) but #19 was truly something special. I'm not sure how he was/is viewed in other parts of the nation but to me he was the greatest pure hitter of his era. George Brett, Boggs, Mattingly, Puckett and Molitor all come to mind as non power guys that got way more pub than him but absolutely nobody was more reliably consistent from the mid 80's to mid 90's than T. Cheers 🍻 to him up in that big 5.5 hole in the sky.
