Golden yellow Very nice straw stony white floral notes on a12 year old wine under screw cap! Acidic and lighted texture long finish. Impressive — 2 months ago
2021 vintage.
Sangiovese 60 % and Cabernet Sauvignon 40 % from Pitigliano estate in Maremma, Tuscany with a southwest exposure.
Owned by Tommasi family since 1997.
Rompicolla is ‘breakneck’ but means tremendously steep and slippery slope…a risky adventure.
Soils are deep in volcanic tuff.
Stainless steel ferment and matured 1 year in 65 HL Slavonian oak casks.
Red cherries, raspberries, savoury spice, and floral.
Medium bodied but fresh and clean on the finish.

Actually a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (53%), Vermentino (37%), Viognier (7%) and Semmillon (3%). Light golden color. Aromas of orchard fruit, citrus and smoky chalk dust. Flavors of white peach, apricot, yellow and green apple, tangerine and fresh herbs. Touch of mint on the long and crisp finish. Bright acidity, medium body and sharp focus. Outstanding complexity and dimension. Interesting, unusual and brilliant Italian white! Thank you so much for sharing, Petey! — a month ago
This is the type of wine I really enjoy. Earthy, not too dry, not sweet. A little dry, but not to make you pucker, medium tannins, NOT fruit forward (thank god). It tastes like an Italian red wine. Served it with a bolognese-ish pasta. Worked well, very enjoyable. Sangiovese, merlot and petit verdot. — 2 months ago
Light garnet color with a dark ruby core., Aromas of ripe black fruit, asphalt and fresh herbs. Flavors of blackberries, black plums, black tea, black pepper and dark figs. Touch of mint on the medium-plus finish. Firm chalky tannins and nicely balanced acidity. Complex, elegant and flavorful. Thanks for opening, Chris B! — 5 months ago

Fascinating to have a wine older than me. Smell was raisins - reminded me of amarone — 18 days ago

After tasting next to other organic/low intervention wines, the structure and finesse of this wine becomes more evident. Smooth red and dark fruit on the palate with good but no overwhelming acidity. Drinks like a wine from a colder climate. — 4 months ago
Good value from TJs — 5 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2021 pours a deep garnet color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of black cherry, espresso, black tea, dried herbs and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Drink now with patience but, to my palate, I think this will be better with a few more years in the cellar so the oak can better integrate. This is built to last well past 2041. — 6 months ago

Dark ruby color with a slight brick rim. Aromas of cherry, bramble berries, leather, orange zest and dusty earth. Flavors of black cherry/berry/raspberry/plum fruit, blueberries, tobacco and savory spices. Intense earthy quality on the long finish. Mouth watering acidity and very silky tannins. Medium-plus body. A bit of heft and intensity. Solid weeknight option. — 15 days ago
