Vintage Porto Port Blend 1960

Commemorating a hopeful day with a wine of my approximate age, thanks to the generosity of some very good friends, the Slatterys. (Taking the cork out without a Durand was like battlefield surgery.) Still alive and kicking. Color is quite tawny at this point, but it’s so fragrant. Some rich fruit and loads of tertiary notes of mahogany and nutty notes. Not super sweet. Elegant and soft texture. Alcohol integrated beautifully. Long. — 12 hours ago

Had a few bottles a few years back. Great vintage & so much fun to pour for a large group of people.

Quinta do Vesuvio (Symington)

Vintage Porto Port Blend 1990

This seems sweeter and younger than the excellent 1990 Vesuvio from last night, the spirit is really separated at this point (after an 8-hour decant), will need more aging, love the sweetness, though. — 4 days ago

Late Bottled Vintage Porto 2015

Hints of chocolate with herbs, this port wine is truly delicious. A definite must buy again. — 3 days ago

W. & J. Graham's

Vintage Port Blend 1977

Definitely one of the better bottles of 1977 Graham’s I’ve had, sweet, balanced, seems at peak, medium-long finish, what elevates this for me is spirit is integrated and it has the signature Graham’s sweetness. — 8 days ago

The Old Port Righ Vineyard Chardonnay 2019

It reminds me of a Chassagne-Montrachet
Kaleidoscope of fruit, a huge bunch of flowers and a wet rock mineral quite peculiar
Long and perhaps slightly warm.
I'd say that it will benefit from time in the bottle
It has the body and freshness to age well IMO.

Giant Steps

Applejack Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016

Some smoky, cherry liqueur with forest floor and whole bunch notes. Has been one of my favourite Yarra Valley Pinots for ages with good QPR. The palate is medium bodied and texturally quite mouth filling bordering on luscious. Medium minus acid. Very Giant Steps, very Applejack Vineyard. Consistent quality. — 4 days ago

10 Years Potstill Brandy 2018

This is a very good brandy indeed. Martell XO loses to this brandy in all respects. — 9 days ago
