Pique-Nique Grenache Rosé 2024

Grenache rose. Pale pink, light, crisp, nice strawberry- like mouth. Cracked it to sit outside for a “warm” Friday afternoon. It almost hit 50! At least the sun was bright. — 4 months ago

Me either. From the Abbaye St. Vivant vineyard in the Hautes-Cotes. Aubert de Villaine is leading a project to restore the Abbaye.

15’ Montagne Russe Silver and Gold Chardonnay. Holy mother. This is a beast of a wine.
Butterscotch, Banana foster👍, apricots.
Creamy finish with flavors such as caramelized peaches and custard. This wine is not everyone. If you enjoy Rombauer Club Selection Chardonnay $65 .

14 Bevan for sure. It’s a bit better. Not quite as good as the 13 Bevan. IMO. I’ll open another bottle in a few months.

Maritana Vineyards

Le Russe Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2021

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Fruity nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing sweet cherries, plums, light oak, chocolates, black pepper, light earth, herbs, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee and black pepper.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley. Nicely balanced and elegant.

Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime.

Easy drinking and a good sipping wine.

13% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Lioco

Mendocino County Pinot Noir 2019

Sour cherry on the nose & palate. Flat, tart front that quickly becomes a beautiful smoked raspberry, leather, blueberry, currant, violet, & milk chocolate. Medium bodied with a medium acidity. Doesn’t linger on the palate. Light and easy to drink, yet complex enough to pique my interest. — 5 years ago

Stunning. Haunting. Stays with you. Syrah with a bit of Viognier. Floral. A Cal Cote Rotie... in fact I liked it better than the Rostraing tasted alongside. 70 cases... buy it if you find it... and let it breathe. — 7 years ago

Update: we've had 3 more bottles since posting and there was noted variation. 2 great. One seemed muted / shut down. One diluted... almost lighter... watered down.
