Pio Cesare

Barolo Nebbiolo 2010

Loved it! (Yes already past tense) Tawny color and floral nose. Dark plum, prune, and just the right tannin level for me. Hit all the right notes for me. I will hunt this one down again. — 12 days ago

Always a winner. Rich, luscious and delishious — 2 months ago

Cesare Pavese Barolo Nebbiolo 2013

Very interesting nebbiolo. Garnet color, started with low aroma but opened to a complex nose. Black fruit, floral notes, licorice, plums in liquor and the tipical rustic tone that most Italian wines have. Good tannin on the mouth, very nice acidity. Good permanence in mouth. Drank it for more than 2 hours to enjoy it at its fullest. — 2 months ago

Fides Barbera d'Alba 2016

Never had this Barbera. Delicious. Much bigger than most Barbera. Chunky. Black fruit? Med-full. Ok length but delicious — a month ago

Langhe Nebbiolo 2015

10000 shades or grey. It will be tough for me to distinguish numerically. Great, not stellar?

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2012

Back in Milan...

Beautiful color, light red with a pink orange rim.

Drank this way too soon/fast (no decant).

Beautiful floral aromas, a welcome home to the north. Licorice underneath. Medium plus acidity, medium plus alcohol (with the nice burn).

Tannins are at medium. Finish of cherry.
