Excellent. Elegant and smooth. Loved it — a month ago
Lovely expression of Priorat in a bottle!!! Muted red fruit on the nose with medium ruby color in the glass. On the palete one is rewarded with red cherry, raspberry and strawberry with slate minerality a plenty. This is a real treat from Palacios to the lucky drinker!! — 3 months ago
Always fun to explore an indigenous varietal from Spain - especially when Alvaro Palacios is involved. I found this Mencia wine to be medium bodied with good acidity and structured tannins that were present in this young wine but not obnoxiously so. The fruit is darker dried red fruit that proved to be a good compliment with grilled shishito peppers. It was so nice to dive into a new aspect of Spain’s wine history. — 4 months ago
Intense red fruit and color for a wine that was immediately approachable. Structured and balanced for cellaring. Delicious with lunch! — 6 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2020 “Pétalos” pours a deep purple color with a magenta rim and an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with ripe and tart black fruits: blackberries, black cherry, salmiakki, horse blanket, and mixed earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. A crazy, ambitious wine that’s the result of assembling over 300 plots. Between Raúl Perez and Palacios, Mencia doesn’t get much better. Drink now through 2030. — 2 months ago

This is pure Catalan soul in a bottle—think sun-soaked red cherry, wild herbs, crushed slate, and just a touch of smoky spice. Bold yet refined, with the energy of Priorat’s rugged hills and the elegance of world-class winemaking.
